circa 1760, with finely grained single board mahogany top, resting on a boldly carved stand with leaf, scroll, and rocaille ornament in deep relief on a stippled and diapered ground, skirt centering a carved winged mask of Venus issuing from a shell, deeply carved cabriole legs resting on scroll feet, 30-1/2 x 59 x 31 in.

Condition: fine original condition overall, underside of top lacking medial brace, some scattered pest damage to secondary surfaces, some scattered wear to carving, minor chips at nose of Venus mask and minor old loss at edge of hair, some dents to right side of mask, loss of one openwork leaf tip at skirt, minor veneer cracks to skirt banding, typical stains, dents, wear and minor cracks to top
