Madelia Hickman Ring Joins Brunk Auctions
ASHEVILLE, NC — Brunk Auctions is delighted to announce the latest addition to their team: Madelia Hickman Ring, who will be the firm’s new Director of Marketing.
Madelia began her career at Butterfield & Butterfield (now Bonhams) in San Francisco, followed by a tenure in the American furniture department at Christie’s; it was here she first worked with Andrew Brunk. After a few years as a generalist at Litchfield Auctions following the birth of her son, Connor, she headed up the American Furniture & Folk Art department at Bonhams in New York City. From 2017 to 2025, she was part of the Newtown, CT-based editorial team at Antiques and The Arts Weekly, rising from assistant editor to editor-in-chief in 2021. Additionally, she has written articles for the Catalogue of Antiques & Fine Art on various Americana subjects.
Madelia holds a BA in Classical Studies and an MA in Art History, both from the University of California, Riverside, as well as a postgraduate certificate at Sotheby’s Institute. She has an intimate working knowledge of the auction world and brings a sterling reputation and strong work ethic to the Brunk team. There, she will assist in working with American decorative arts as well as being the point person for marketing and communications.
