Two Japanese Cloisonne Vases with Gold Stone

probably Meiji period, vase with alternating banners of phoenix and dragon depictions, floral borders with moths, gold stone highlights, on a red-brown enamel ground, green enameled interior and base, 8-1/2 in.; an almost identical miniature vase, 3-1/2 in.; both with Ando Jubei marks to bases 

 

Provenance:Estate of Judge and Mrs. Charles Neese, Greeneville, Tennessee; By Descent to Dr. Rhonda Davis Poirier, New York, New York and Jacksonville, Florida

Condition:

with some small areas of enamel loss and pinholes, some glaze voids to green enameled interior, other minor surface wear consistent with age and use
