British, mid 17th century, central figure of Saint Mary Magdalene depicted as bare breasted and dressed in fine attire, standing next to a man holding a staff, both under a bright sun encircling a dove or phoenix, figures flanked by a lion and stag, along with other animal and plant motifs, stream below with fish, ducks and aquatic plants, worked in silk and metallic thread, 10-1/4 x 13 in.; 18th century stained wood frame, 11-3/4 x 13 in.

probably reduced, some stitch loss primarily to lower part of embroidery, fading, minor discoloration to female's shoes, cut edges and stitched to archival board
