probably Boston area, circa 1740, red painted frame with scalloped skirt, cabriole legs with pad feet, wool damask upholstered slip seat, 40-1/2 x 21 x 16-1/2 in., seat height 18 in.

generally good condition, repinning at seat frame rails, some cracks and distress at joint of crest rail and stiles, old alligatored paint surface with scattered losses especially at feet, later blocking for seat frame, old minor loss at one rear foot, other scattered minor flaws
