Louis XV Style Tortoiseshell Veneered Bracket Clock

French, late 19th century, kidney form case with glass panels and gilt bronze mounts, glass door with gilt bronze mount of woman playing a lyre, pierced foliate finial, gilt bronze dial with Arabic numerals denoting the minutes and inset enameled panels with Roman numerals denoting the hour, sun mask pendulum and winder key, 18 in.

scattered cracks and distress to tortoiseshell veneer, scattered cracks and breaks to bronze mounts, gilt loss and discoloration with some areas of gilt retouch,  some mounts slightly loose, scattered scratches and chips to enameled panels, some chips to glass, front glass panel secured in with felt strips, other surface wear and abrasions consistent with age and use; missing door key, pendulum possibly associated; not tested for functionality
