Louis XIV Document, 1710
Louis XIV (King of France, 1638-1715), a hand-written document dated November 29, 1710, a military appointment making the Marquis de Lyonne, a colonel of infantry, on vellum, 11-1/2 x 19 in., housed in a custom full leather slipcase, elaborately gilt-decorated and lettered, with three raised bands and a simple cloth chemise, 9-3/4 x 6-3/4 in.

Condition:
diagonal cut in the vellum but with all parts complete, newsprint catalog clipping attached otherwise near fine; the chemise is very good and the slipcase has wear at the extremities otherwise near fine
