Nude and House on Hill, c. 1943, signed lower left "John Sloan", inscribed variously verso, oil on panel, 16 x 19-3/4 in.; period gilt wood and composition frame, 24 x 28-1/2 in.

Note: Nude with House on Hill is included in the John Sloan catalog Raisonne on page 396, as #1126.  (Sloan, John, and Rowland Elzea. John Sloan's Oil Paintings: A Catalogue RaisonneĢ. 1991).  According to Rowland Elzea, the house seen through the window is Sloan's home in santa Fe, New Mexico.  The painting was sold through the Hall of Art in New York in 1944.  According to Elzea it was also included in sales at Sotheby Parke Bernet in New York in 1973, 1974 and 1975.
