George III Carved Mahogany and Brass Mounted Tea Table

British, probably 18th century, circular top fitted with a circular single board top fitted with brass gallery, tilting over birdcage support, baluster and spiral turned standard on leaf carved legs with ball and claw feet, rich dark surface 28-1/2 x 25 in. diameter

Provenance:Antique Art Galleries Ltd., purchased 1936; Property Deaccessioned by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Williamsburg, Virginia; all proceeds to benefit the Collections Acquisitions Fund

Condition:

edge repair or possible joint as made at edge of top, lock catch replaced, brass gallery possibly original but set with modern screws, shrinkage cracks and minor checking to standard, top with stains and finish distress, some polish wear at brass, spline repair at one ankle, minor foot wear
