Francis II Austro-Hungarian Patent of Nobility

Patent of Nobility for Philipp Heinrich Schaller, given the name "Philipp Heinrich von Schaller" and his son Ferdinand Joseph Schaller on March 17th, 1792, with a coat of arms, signed "Francis II" by Holy Roman Emperor Francis II (1768-1835), Emperor of Austria 1804-1835, King of Hungary 1792-1830, King of Bohemia 1792-1835, with two other official signatures, hand-calligraphed and one illuminated crest on vellum sheets, 8 double-sided, within a red velvet bound portfolio, 14-5/8 x 12-1/2 in. ribbon ties and attached, gilt bronze seal box with with the Austro-Hungarian double-headed eagle crest with gold threaded cord, 6-1/2 dia., housed in tin patent box, 15-3/8 x 13 x 3 in.

Note: Francis II was the last Holy Roman Emperor, ruling from 1792 until 1806, when he dissolved the Holy Roman Empire after defeats of the Third Coalition by Napoleon at the Battle of Austerlitz.

Philipp Schaller was knighted for 25 years of service as a captain auditor.
