Chinese White Jade Plaque With Carved Scholar

pale white color with mottled whiteish inclusions, most likely an inset or box lid, two small drilled pinholes on side, carved depiction of a scholar amongst a rocky landscape with pine tree, with accession number on side "66.17.2" (accessioned in 1966), 4-1/4 x 2-3/8 x 1/4 in.

Note: Tests as jadeite on the Presidium Gem Tester II.

inclusions, some grime in carving, minute chips around edges
