Chinese Silk Dragon Robe
19th century, fine blue silk with nine five clawed dragons (including one interior) against a trellised background with bats, clouds, and auspicious objects, worked in couched gold threads, over a wide lishui border, similar dragon decoration on the collar, sleeves and cuff, light blue silk lining, with bamboo rod for hanging, 57 x 100 in.

Condition:
front stain or discoloration to upper right near shoulder, fraying to cording around inner collar, tears to button fasteners, wear around collar and upper border, some pulling and losses to couched embroidery at shoulders, wear to exterior and tears to lining at hem, other minor wear throughout
