Chinese Sancai Glazed Standing Horse and Ram
possibly Tang dynasty, modeled standing horse on a rectangular base with its head slightly turned, overall mottled caramel and cream colored glaze, 8-1/4 x 9-1/2 in.; standing ram with defined facial features, glazed all over in a creamy white, the saddle pad glazed with streaks of green and amber, opening to underside, positioned on a rectangular base, 5-3/4 x 8 in.

Condition:
horse with restoration to neck, repairs to tail and legs, extensive losses to glazed surfaces, flaking and surface dirt layer; ram with some small firing cracks and glaze crazing (as made), scratches and wear consistent with age and use
