New York, N.Y.: Sanford & Patricia Smith galleries, 1984., checklist page 262 & 263.  According to Sniffen, the paddlewheel steamship St. Johns was built by Harlan & Hollingsworth, Wilmington. Delaware, and was owned by C.C. Leary & Co. in New York from 1878-1941.  This painting is listed as being owned by the New Jersey Historical Society.
