American Folk Art Molded Tin Peafowl Weathervane

19th century, tin or sheet iron body, in the form of a peafowl with cut feather tail, pierced eye and applied crown, original surface with traces of white paint, 23-1/4 x 25-1/2 in., now mounted on modern black finished stand, with stand 26-3/4 x 24 in.  [Folk Art Museum]

Note: Documentation shows that this weathervane was found n Maine and resembles the Vermont Peacock weathervanes in a number of New England Collections including the Shelburne Museum.
