In the 1953 World Series, the New York Yankees defeated the Brooklyn Dodgers in six games. This marked the Yankees' fifth consecutive World Series win, a record that still stands to this day. Instrumental in this victory was a young Mickey Mantle, regarded as the greatest switch hitter in baseball. Two of Mantle’s five hits in the series were home runs, one coming as the game winning blast in Game 2 and the other a grand slam in Game 5.
