center old European cut diamond 2.62cts., I, SI1, GIA report 5202968514, stamped "18ct", white gold, size 6, 3.5 grams
Note: Through family history, it was said that the diamond was originally one of two solitaires on a platinum brooch initially owned by Madame Cornelia Fortier, wife of Monsieur Charles Fortier, head of litigation at the Banque de France, Paris, 1871. The brooch was passed through the family intact until the late 1960's when the diamond was put into the current ring.
